Inova was founded in 2001 by Loren Sherman when he began to manufacture and sell his patented TableBed, something he designed to improve the quality of life for himself and his two young children living in a small-sized NYC apartment.

Before Inova, Loren was a theatrical set designer in Manhattan for over 20 years and was well-known for creating surprising transformations between scenes and routinely taking on unique and complex challenges.

After experiencing firsthand what a positive difference multi-functional beds can make in small spaces, Loren realized there was a need in the market for such beds. With the advice of several close friends, Loren left the theatre industry for a career-changing venture and opportunity within multi-functional furniture manufacturing.

From there, Loren began creating and exhibiting Inova’s unique multi-functional furniture solutions at national hospitality & military tradeshows. Through the exposure of the tradeshows and early press, Inova’s business grew in both the commercial and residential sectors. In 2005, Loren moved the factory to Upstate New York, needing more space.
